ARCHIVE

Prior to 2004 Stephen’s artistic practice was concerned with the History of the East End of London. He presented a number of shows including the installation Ghosts at Sutton House in Hackney (the oldest house in the East End) and a number of exhibitions in both conventional galleries and appropriated spaces in and around Spitalfields and Hackney. Dan Farson, Peter Ackroyd and other East-End visonaries championed the work and their reviews and catalogue essays persuaded supporters to make the journey east years before the current gallery explosion.

An archive of Stephen’s East London involvements will be uploaded soon as a sister site to that of his current artistic practice.
